to have 7 years residency in the parish before they could claim poor relief. Margaret obviously didn't have
enough residency in Bellshill (Bothwell parish) so Cambusnethan parish had to "Accept Liability" (the phrase

Note on Marriage to Benjamin WORFOLK: Diane WORFOLK: "My dad's parents died with 6 months inbetween them. At the time I think my mum [Gladys FAIRWEATHER] was pregnant. She moved into the house [79 Harworth Street] before or after they died. Also living in the house were my dad's younger brothers. After the baby was born (stillborn) or around that time, my Dad threw his younger brothers out. Causing much ill-feeling among the siblings. You would have to get actual dates to see if this story is correct. The house was a rented house. I do know that one or all of the brothers went to live with the Corbetts, Eveline and Horace, who lived down the road in Burgoyne Road.".

Cannot find any record on the 1911 census.
Searched with all manner of wildcards etc.

Joseph left his wife Ellen when their daughter Gladys was a baby.
Efforts to find him on the 1911 census have been unsuccessful. Ellen's entry on the 1911 census (named as Nellie Fairweather) gives her status as "Married".

Marriage certificate of Gladys FAIRWEATHER 29 Nov 1925 does not list Joseph as deceased, but it is unlikely that she knew of his whereabouts at this time. The same certificate gives his profession as Labourer.

The only possibly entry in the England & Wales Death Index for Joseph is the 1954 Sheffield Q3 2d 181 entry for Joseph Fairweather.
There are no entries in the England & Wales Birth Index for any other Joseph Fairweathers to whom this death entry could relate.

That death certificate describes a 79 year old male of occupation unknown, of 120 West Bar Sheffield - research suggests this was a hostel or dosshouse.
The place of death is given as 2 Herries Road, Sheffield - a euphemism for the Fir Vale hospital to prevent embarrassment at a time when people would remember those buildings as housing the Firvale Workhouse. This later became the site of the Northern General Hospital.
