Note on Marriage
"Solomon (son of William and Leah Ann broyles) moved with several McGhee families, Campbell's, Kiker's, Green's, Smith's and Tanners into central AR from AL in 1858. Most of the McGhee's settled in Perry County, around Casa, Adona, Perry and
Opelo. His mother , Leah was born in Washington County, TN in 1776. WIlliam was born in VA before 1770. Both families came from the Blue Ridge Mountains of NE TN only a few miles from VA. WIlliam and Leah married 26 sept 1793 in Washington
County, TN. (prior to moving to AR - in 1835 a number of families, mostly McGhee's moved from TN to Cherokee County, AL, Post Office Kirks Grove, Rome, GA was the nearest town of any size and was 21 miles east from Kirks Grove). Solomon was one
of their 9 children that moved on to AR . Solomon (b 1803 d 10/10/95 buried in McGhee cemetary - so is all of our relatives and my husband and I plan to be buried there as well)) and wife Lucinda Campbell (b 1809 in NC - her brother Lawson
Campbell married Mary McGhee - Solomon's sister - they settled about 2 miles from Point Cedar about 30 miles SW of Hot Springs, AR). Solomon and Lucinda had the following children: William N, James, John C, David, Robert and Lawson. Lucinda
